In the East it is called the “Wei Qi” – an energy that hovers in the byways and the highways of the body ready to present resistance to assault from within or without.
In the West we call it the Immune System, a phrase in sharp focus over the last three years as millions far and wide have been hit heavily by the Covi-19 phenomenon.
There is more to the Defensive Systems of the body than just fending off bad bugs and flu viruses trying to have a go at you from the outside.
The Intelligence of these Systems extends to every last corner of the internal environment, policing the flow of life and informing the seeking and destruction of cells that no longer serve the interests of the body or are otherwise infected or damaged beyond repair.
Between acting and reacting against potential threats, these Systems must also remain passive towards information being fed back on normal cells and structures serving their assigned function.
When this balance of roles gets disturbed, the body becomes either too open to aggressors from the outside, or too caught up with internal conflict on the inside, losing its grip on both territory and security.
This is how anything from chronic deep-seated infections to auto-immune thyroiditis and inflammatory arthritis can take hold inside the body and sabotage the defensive efforts of the body.
Treating such conditions with medicine alone is not always enough for a full recovery to take place.
Identifying and strengthening the weaknesses in the body’s defenses takes an investigative eye and a strategic approach, yet it can be done.
Gradually, not without difficulty, and with effort.
Yet done nonetheless.
